method madness...

Back to the grind at school today. My "public speaking" engagement went well. :) (It wasn't really public speaking, as I got to sit in my chair, and there were only about 20-25 people there!) Met with my mentee. I like her. She seems grounded and capable! She should fit in with us well! I did get part of my classroom unpacked. I have nearly 2,000 books in my room, so unpacking them and organizing them each fall is quite a task. This year, I am organizing them a few ways....by author and having each "popular" children's author have their own book bin/crate and I have them labeled, so kids can find books easily and it's less overwhelming than looking at a whole lot of book lined up on a shelf with the spines staring back at you. I also have a few bins organized by genre. I have fairytales, folktales, biographies, nonfiction, poetry, etc all separated out with those books in those bins. I also have several bins organized by character or series ---for example Donald Sobol for Encyclopedia Brown, Harry Potter books, A Series of Unfortunate Events, etc. The kids can find these popular books more easily. Each shelf on my big bookcases holds 4 crates (the small book-size crates, so I have almost all of them sorted and ready to go. I just need to make a few more labels for the bins. After I came home from school, I played with Punky for quite awhile before hubby got home. Punky just cracks me up.......cute story of the day...
I was blow-drying my hair this morning and brushing it. I looked down at Punky who had been sitting on the floor at my feet playing with a yellow block, and he is standing up, one arm locked bracing himself against the cabinet, and in the other hand, he is brushing his hair with his little brush. It cracked me up! He was mimicking Mommy! It was adorable!
Speaking of this morning, I was thinking in the shower...I had to buy guy body wash the other day because SuperTarget no longer carries my Olive Leaf bodywash from method. I love that stuff! It's the only non-crap smelling body wash for me! Women's body washes always smell like fruits or vegetables or flowers (that I'm not so sure the manufacturer's even know what the flower should smell like! They are usually WAY OFF BASE!) Olive Leaf is fresh, invigorating, and just plain AWESOME! Any way, It's not at Target anymore... so I settled for Suave Bodywash for Men......cuz it smells fresh and clean, and not foo-foo-ey! Ick. It's ok, but it's not method! Ok, I'm done venting. Art called me tonight! It was so nice to hear his voice! :) I still miss him terribly. It's just not the same going back to school without him around. He just got back from his honeymoon and was re-reading the letter I sent him earlier this month and decided to call me. :) We talked for an hour...I had to go when Hubby finished making our dinner. :) Another 10 hours, and i will be at the "Great Minnesota Get-Together!"
